Jasmine Essential oil, Pure and Natural

Botanical Name: Jasminum officinale

General description of Jasmine:
An evergreen climbing shrub or vine up to 10 metres (33ft) high with fine, delicate, bright small green or variegated leaves and star shaped very fragrant small white flowers, although they can be pink or yellow.

Extraction of Jasmine Essential Oil:
A concrete is produced from the flowers by solvent extraction. The absolute is obtained from the concrete by separation with alcohol. The second essential oil is extracted by steam distillation of the absolute.

Description of Jasmine Essential Oil:
The absolute is a dark orange-brown, viscous liquid with an intensely rich, warm, floral scent and a tea-like undertone. Jasmine has a powerful, heady fragrance that some people find overwhelming, although once diluted it becomes more subtle. The perfume is strongest at night, hence its Indian name of "queen of the night", so night-time is also the best occasion to harvest the flowers. Jasmine has sweet, floral, exotic top notes and heady, warm honeyed undertones. It blends well with frankincense, neroli, cypress, verbena, melissa, rose, rosewood, sandalwood, clary sage and all citrus oils. It has the ability to round off any rough notes and blend with virtually everything.
